Face to face treatment
Subsequent to the Scottish Governments recent update and guidelines from The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy we can offer face to face appointments.
We have implemented the recommended infection control measures to ensure your safety. Prior to your attendance during the initial telephone conversation we will discuss with you the risks involved in attending for treatment so you are informed and can give consent.
Now that restrictions have eased we are able to see you in person. Our priority is the health and safety of everyone and face to face consultations will be offered where appropriate.
Many of our patients are vulnerable and nervous about the lifting of restrictions. We are very respectful of their feelings, and also wish to ensure that the physiotherapy practice is maintained as safe as possible. The wearing of face coverings remains mandatory in health care settings.
If you have any questions please call the practice on 01334 477398
Covid-19 Infection control measures
Following an initial telephone conversation, we can arrange a face to face consultation for you at the practice. We will discuss the risks of attending for treatment and the measures we have put in place to minimise that risk. We will ask you to confirm whether or not you or anyone in your household or that you are in contact with is experiencing any of the symptoms of Covid – 19 such as persistent cough, a high temperature, loss of smell or taste is shielding or self-isolating.
Deciding on face to face consultation
Covid-19 is a new virus in humans and therefore we have no immunity. The virus is believed to be transmitted from an infected person in close contact through respiratory droplets, by direct contact or by contact with contaminated objects and surfaces. In deciding to offer face to face consultations and treatment we carefully consider the risks of contracting Covid-19 by providing treatment against the risks to you if that treatment is not provided.
We ask you do not enter the practice until your exact appointment time as we have limited waiting facilities. Please wear a face mask or covering that you are comfortable with for the duration of your appointment.
Entering the clinic
When you enter the building, immediately use hand sanitizer (80% alcohol) provided from the dispenser on your left and following the instructions on the wall. Please make your way to the reception area where your temperature will be taken. Only the patient with the appointment should attend the practice to keep the number of people to a minimum.
Your physiotherapist will be wearing appropriate PPE in accordance with the guidelines as set out by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and Scottish Government.
You will be attending for hands on treatment. It is not possible to maintain social distancing during your entire treatment session. Appointments will be 40 minutes and are staggered to avoid congestion in the building.
You are required to be exactly on time for your appointment to avoid congestion and allow for disinfection, therefore we cannot overrun.
Payment and any future appointments can be made at reception where social distancing and hygiene measures are also in place.
Leaving the building
Following your treatment session please make use of the hand sanitizer as you leave.
All surfaces including face shields, treatment couch and commonly touched surfaces such as door handles and switches will be disinfected between appointments. PPE and any laundry used will be disposed of and replaced. Rooms will be ventilated and windows shall remain open during treatment if possible.
Alcohol hand sanitizer will be available in the practice for your use. Your contact details will be retained to comply with the Scottish Government test track and trace programme.
Prior to your appointment we will email you with further information and ask you reply confirming that you have read this information and that you understand your obligation to declare any symptoms, the risks in attending and your consent to treatment and contact tracing if necessary.
Thank you! We greatly appreciate your continued support during what is a difficult time for us all and very much hope that we can return to a more normal way of working soon.
